This property had unfortunately lost its original bay frontage which would have mirrored the property next door. It also has a suspended ceiling which causes problems when considering fascia heights.

It was decided to remove the obsolete internally illuminated sign-box which had previously been boarded over and assess conditions underneath. This large box dominated the frontage.

It was accepted that this was going to be a rather large fascia sign (as it needed to conceal suspended shop ceiling) but that the scheme would be as elegant as possible to counteract this. When the box was removed there were large gaps that had to be contended with. There was also a burglar alarm in the way. It was decided to fit a new board to cover this area but to break it up with mouldings.

Colour scheme in 2-tone blue to give contrast to masonry. "Oxford blue" gloss paint, with pale blue "Edwardian 26" masonry paint. These are both paint colours from Dulux Heritage range Edwardian colours. Mouldings were painted in a soft white for contrast.

Signage was hand-painted traditional style in soft white on the Oxford blue background.

The dramatic improvement has been the removal of such a large obstructing box over the fascia. The architectural details can now be seen and gives a much more cohesive look to the whole building.
