This is a large frontage that had previously varnished door and window frames with white masonry paint with grey surrounds. The paintwork/varnish lacked colour while the red & white canopy and large red & yellow sign dominated.

Barry, the owner, liked the "Oxford blue" from Dulux Heritage Edwardian colours and it was decided to team this with "Edwardian 7" (cream) for some gloss work and masonry paint. Shop windows, upstairs windows, pillasters and grills are painted in the blue. Fan light and door in the cream, matching the masonry. The traditional style awning is now recovered in a matching soft cream & blue which gives a quite dramatic improvement.

The fascia sign was considered to be rather a problem because it was so large, but nevertheless had to allow for the lettering to be raised sufficiently above the awning to be readable. It was decided to border the sign with an "Oxford blue" border with rope edge trim. The main colour chosen for the sign background is "Edwardian 14 (a warm golden cream) which gives sufficient contrast to the other colours. Handpainted sign uses subtle but colourful shading on "Domestacare" logo all enclosed in traditional banner work. Elegant descriptive script lettering to each side.

The whole frontage now looks much more cohesive and co-ordinated. The colours all now work together.
