This is a very fine double-bay shopfront benefiting from many original features, together with the upper storey still sporting original windows, slate roof, ridge details and iron finial.

The proprietors were keen to get started by doing their own decorating (and had already repainted the current shade of light cream masonry paint) and just wanted advice on this together with a grant towards a new fascia board with handpainted signage.

After discussions about colour preferences, they decided that they would like to use red and yellow in the sign. It was suggested that they paint the window frames and door in "Heritage Red" to provide a vibrant contrast to the soft cream.

The sign uses "Heritage Red" as the main colour together with a clear golden yellow to provide a lively contrast. It was suggested that a clear dove grey should be incorporated into the signage to pick up the colour of the leading and glass on the multi-panes round the top of the double bay shop frontage.
