Maz Fabrics are based in the former 1930's Post Office building. They had been having problems with warped, leaking windows and a certain amount of vandalism resulting in broken windows.
They were very keen to have some form of security shutters but did not want a bulky system projecting out too much from the front of the building. They also wanted a bright green colour but wanted some red included to echo the history of the building.
The shutters/windows were integrated components so that the shutters rolled right back during the day. The colour chosen was mid Brunswick green. The new handpainted sign was designed to span the apron area of the building. The colour had to be pillar-box red! The lettering style is designed to give homage to the 1930's Art Deco movement with a hint of the exotic to reflect the wide stock of Asian fabrics and saris for sale inside.
We are planning to have some pictorial feature installed on the redundant postboxes to reflect the history of the building.
