The shopfront is a pleasant traditional bay front but had been marred for many years by a plastic internally illuminated sign jutting out at fascia level and spoiling the lines of the fascia.
The proprietors decided not to go for the usual blue or green colour scheme - largely because the premises had been green for many years and the adjoining premises is blue. They decided on a scheme using "Heritage Red" and "Deep Cream" from the Dulux Heritage range. The lower tiles were cleaned back to the original black colour (and touched up) which now draws emphasis to the traditional black and white chequer-board tiled doorstep.
The traditional sign writing really introduces a fun element especially with the quirky fantasy fish forming part of the first capital letter. The sign echoes the red and cream and introduces a warm blue for contrast.
A traditional hanging sign replaces the plastic jutting sign.
