This shopfront was already powder-coated in a dark blue but did not present a very individual appearance. What was necessary was to give the shop some colour and character. The plastic sign and internally illuminated projecting sign did not project a sympathetic image.

Staff at the Wolverton branch found that the shop could get excessively hot in the Summer as there are two large shop windows and glass door. They felt that a traditional canopy would assist both with making the premises feel more comfortable and with giving a more traditional look to the shopfront. We fully agreed with this, and felt that together with the replacing of the signs with hand painted, this would present a much more attractive and individual scheme.

The colours chosen are the corporate colours of St. Andrew's Bookshops chain but are traditional colours (saffron & mauve).
