Following our visit to Pentyrch today, we at the European Meteorological Commission (Bad Weather Directorate), have decided that Pentyrch will be the ideal location for the new European Museum of Rain. The other main candidate town, Toujours Le Deluge in France has been found to be insufficiently moist.
At this point, decisions have not been reached over exact contents, however, we envisage expositions such as “A History Of Pentyrch Drizzle”, “Miserable Weather: Through The Ages: A Pentyrch Perspective” and perhaps some exhibits featuring the stick-on clouds from BBC Weather Maps over the last couple of decades. A side exhibition of John Kettley’s more lurid ties has yet to be agreed.
Naturally, the terrible Pentyrch drought of 1807 (in which rain fell for only 364 consecutive days during that year) must be

Excellent site. I lived in Creigiau until 1969 with my parents Stan and Agnes Perrett and sister Ann. I still have relatives living in both Creigiau and Pentyrch. My father played rugby for Pentyrch RFC and was a member of the team that won The Mallett cup, I believe three times, in the 1950's. Sadly my father passed away in 1989. I live in Blackwood these days but visit Pentyrch and Creigiau quite often. Best wishes, Kevin Perrett

Mr Jones your website on the school is great - the school got its first BBC Apple when I was there, and we used to race to the library at break times to play space invaders. I hope the development of the village now slows down a bit, and we do not sprawl to join Creigiau. Who else remembers when we had a proper village Green opposite Maes Y Sarn.

I found it fun to find this web site. My Mum and her twin sister were born in the village and have never lost touch. These two ladies were born in 1916 and my mum Geunor Brown nee Morgan took me back to Pentyrch many times with pride. The last time was for the funeral of her sister Lady Mair Connor nee Morgan. My great grandmother was the head mistress of the village school in around 1916 I guess. If any one knows Don Llewellyn tell him you saw a message here and ask him to email me

Just thought I'd say what a nice website. This was a trip down memory
lane for me as I went to Pentyrch School up to about 1950 - one of the
teachers was Mrs Morgan and she looked 100 although looking back she
was probably in her early thirties - and I was one of the 'camp kids'
from Rhydlafar. A girl called Myfanwy lived opposite the school and
was always late. My sunday school teacher lived in the wooden Swedish
type house called Tyla Morris which I believe has long been
demolished. Anyway Pentyrch hasn't changed much has it?!
