Children's Painting Competition

Pentyrch Open Gardens 2008 is organising a painting competition, with the subject "Flowers", for children in the local primary schools and nurseries of Pentyrch & Creigiau.  As many of the paintings as possible will be on display in the Village Hall.

The competition will be judged by Paul Arnott, a professional artist and Chairman of South Wales Art Society.  Winners will be announced and prizes given in the Village Hall at 10.00am on Saturday 5th July.

The prizes have been generously donated by The Pen and Stationery Company, Royal Arcade, Cardiff.

We wish all our young artists the very best of luck!

Previous Years' Children's Activities

In 2004, Pentyrch was invaded by entrants in the Best Dressed Scarecrow competition.  The imagination and creativity was stunning! In 2006 and 2007, “Feely Boxes” were positioned in the gardens and children asked to identify all the objects inside. It was great fun and not that tricky! We have also held a Kids' Garden Quiz and drawing competitions, which produced some amazing pieces of art for judging in the Village Hall.
