Here
are some descriptive notes from the website:
MINICRIB
is a simple database of brief notes covering
over 2000 Scottish Country
Dances which enables "cribsheets" to be quickly produced for most
dance programs. These Sheets will
refresh your memory immediately before each dance.
The notes are contained in a Microsoft "Word" template which is placed in the Template folder. After opening "WORD" simply select File/New/Minicrib & the notes are easily accessed by use of the AutoText function. If you enable the macros included in the template, there will be short cuts to help speed the preparation of the "cribsheet".
All files are zipped with Windows software & Mac users will not be able to un-zip them but Mac computers running "Word 98" can use the Word 97/98 Document version when un-zipped. If Word 98 is not available you may be able to read "Word" documents.
Although these notes are copyright there is no claim to the copyright of any dance as each dance is already the copyright of another. It is hoped that the many devisers of the dances listed, will not be offended by the brevity of the notes but will appreciate the usefulness of the notes as a dancing aid.
If you require more information about the Deviser, Publication or available Recordings of any dance the Alan Patterson's database at www.scottap.com/dancedata/ will be of assistance.
The notes are available FREE but in return please leave the MINICRIB footnote that appears on each sheet! i.e.
Compiled by Charles Upton. MINICRIB www.minicrib.care4free.net
It is hoped that Scottish Country dancers everywhere will find the notes of great use, please let me know. Happy dancing to all!
