Westbury Scottish Club,

Information Sheet

Updated November7th2004

Westbury Scottish club was formed in 1946 with the objective of teaching and practice of Scottish Country Dancing and to arrange open dances and social events, promoting interest in Scottish dancing.

The club is run by a committee elected from the membership.
The club is affiliated to the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (R.S.C.D.S.) with Headquarters in Edinburgh which provides support by publishing music and dance literature and maintains links with hundreds of clubs all over the world.

What is Scottish Country Dancing?

You don't have to be a Scot to find your foot tapping to the irresistible rhythms of stirring reels, jigs and haunting strathspeys. You can experience the thrill of dancing your very first Eightsome Reel simply by investing a bit of time, some effort and lots of enthusiasm! It is also a pleasant way of keeping fit, exercising the brain as well as the body. Find out more by coming along to our classes.
