Wyrley Under 16s (Walsall) were awarded the Team of the Month by Wyrley Juniors Football Club for the period from Jan-Feb '03 following their three successive victories, all of which were achieved after coming from behind and one of which was concluded by a golden goal.

20/10: Wyrley out of Cup
Wyrley made an early exit from the Sid Gutteridge cup when they went down to a 5-0 to a very impressive Erdington Star side at Forge Lane.

Despite finding themselves outplayed in every department, Wyrley showed a determination to gain the upper hand throughout the game and created several opportunities to put themselves on the scoresheet - however, they were denied by a combination of good defending; poor finishing, and the linesman's flag.
