The Roadmaker Inn, Gorsley. The Roadmaker Inn

An attractive rural Pub and Restaurant

The Roadmaker Inn is situated in the village of Gorsley, in a beautiful part of rural south Herefordshire just a few hundred yards from the border between Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

Built in 1847 by a local man who built roads with chippings from a local quarry it was originally called Roadway Place where the owner made cider and bred pigs. In 1871 it was renamed and for over 100 years it was known as The New Inn. In 1976 and as a tribute to it's original builder it was renamed again and has since been known as The Roadmaker Inn.

Over the years this charming village pub has been modernised and extended into a venue that's ideal for a quiet drink or a fun night out. The Restaurant is tastefully decorated and is open every evening except Sunday from 6 pm to 10 pm and is non-smoking.

The Roadmaker Inn has recently changed hands and is now owned and run by Keshar Sherchan, Ratna Baharder Rana, Del Baharder Thapamarger and Ganesh Baharder Sherchan. Previously members of the 1st Royal Ghurka Rifles they have an impressive 76 years service in the Ghurkas between them. The restaurant is justifiably proud of the range of Nepalese curries on the menu and also offer traditional English lunches on Sunday from 11.30 am to 3.30 pm using local produce. There is also a Takeaway option for the curries.

The bar is open every day, Monday – Thursday 11.30 am to 11 pm, Friday and Saturday nights the bar is open until midnight and on Sunday until 10.30 pm. As well as the usual drinks there are also hand pulled beers and speciality whiskeys. You can find out more about the village on the new Gorsley Village web site.

Come and enjoy a great night out at The Roadmaker Inn.
