It was nice to see Cheating, we don't seem to get the pleasure very often these days. Everyone expected to see him do the usual thing: 'what's a trail?' but he must be mellowing in his old age. He did wander a couple of times but in the main he actually stayed on the trail.

The Trail? The ON Out was right out of the pub to the first check at the 'tunnel' and then out into the field on a loop which took us round the back of Ardington House, the pub and of course the Church. We then headed out towards Lockinge. Coming out at West Lockinge, we then went in to the Milleniun Wood. A few devious direction changes took us away from the main tracks and into and through the undergrowth and trees. We obviously ended up at the stones but by now, even out in the open and on top of the 'hill', it was more then grey. So the normal science lesson was forgone and after only a few momments we again dived into the undergrowth and trees. By now, rabbit holes were the main problem - not seeing them. But we all survived and eventually found ourselves by the church and the pub. Nice trail Shveller, no major gradients but a variety of terrain, and the length, at 3.5-ish miles was about right for the time of the year.

The chips were quickly ordered. There was a choice apparently of small ones or big ones. Bootsy led the chorus for the big ones! What did we get, bowls of french fries. No complaints about the quantity, but Bootsy was most disapointed though I have to say, despite her complaining she devoured quite a few of them. So Lemony, if you want to keep the job, listen to your customers.

I think some of us were surprised to see Michelle back with us after last week's experience. But she did and she ran well - though she stauyed with the pack, and gone was the bright pink. Maybe she thought she'd try to blend in with the vegetaion. No cows to day though. However, I think I mentioned that a name based on last week was a must - a quick discussion by the committee concurred - and so I performed the naming. So, Michelle is no more. from this day on she will be known as PINK UDDERS. She went a bright pink in the face during the naming, but in the end admitted that while she wanted to forget Cow Common, the name could have been a lot worse. Well, i mean, look at Preppy.

Cheating did pass on an invite from the Berkshire Hash for this coming Sunday. He's laying the trail and it's from Chequers at Fingest. Now those of you who ran recently from Turvill will remember the pretty church with the tower with a twin gabled roof. That was Fingest. Apart from the distance that is one of our favourite running areas. 11am I believe he said.

Right, a reminder about another change of venue next week. The Fleur de Lys at Dorchester and CS will be the hair. I hope you all check the web site because I did say The Merry Miller at Cothill tonight. I for one WILL have my torch with me.! See you all there.
